Sulphates
Our body wash uses a coconut-derived sulphate cleanser for lather. Our other washes, shampoos and bubble bath use sulphate-free cleansers.
Formula Facts
We believe you should know exactly what goes on your family's skin. Here's what's in our formulas, what isn't, and how our products are tested before they reach you.
None of our ingredient lists contain these.
Some of our formulas include these ingredients. Each one has been assessed and kept within regulatory limits, and each formula is adjusted to keep it safe and legal.
Our body wash uses a coconut-derived sulphate cleanser for lather. Our other washes, shampoos and bubble bath use sulphate-free cleansers.
One of our formulas, our conditioner, uses a small amount of EDTA to keep it stable. Our other formulas use different stabilisers.
Some of our formulas contain fragrance. Our oils, balms and mists are scented with essential oils or are fragrance-free. Declared allergens are listed on every pack.
Gentle, non-drying alcohols such as cetearyl alcohol (an emollient) and benzyl alcohol (a preservative) appear in some products. They're not the drying alcohols we leave out.
Our formulas are naturally derived, but they aren't 100% natural. Some use synthetic ingredients so that products like our shampoo foam and clean properly. We'd rather be honest about that than overclaim.

Our products go through the industry-standard safety checks.
We check each formula stays consistent over its shelf life.
Packaging is reviewed to be suitable for use with each formula.
Each formula covered by our safety reports has a Cosmetic Product Safety Report, signed by a chartered chemist.
Water-based products pass a preservative efficacy test (PET). Oils and balms contain no water, so microorganisms can't grow.
We don't just say our products are safe. Here's what the assessment covers.
In short: each formula covered by our safety reports is checked for stability and contamination, then assessed against UK and EU cosmetic rules by a chartered chemist.
Each product's Cosmetic Product Safety Report was prepared by ADS Laboratories, an independent UK safety laboratory, and signed off by a chartered chemist. Our reports were issued in February and March 2025.
UK and EU cosmetic regulations (EU Regulation 1223/2009, Article 10 and Annex I). Every ingredient is reviewed for its concentration, its function and its safety, taking into account how the product is used.
For the products assessed, the safety assessor's conclusion is that the evidence doesn't indicate a significant risk to users that outweighs the benefits of use, and that the product is safe for its stated use.
Every assessed product has also passed a stability test. Our water-based products have passed a preservative efficacy test (PET), and our oils and balms contain no water, so microorganisms can't grow.
Naturally derived, not 100% natural. Some formulas use synthetic ingredients so they foam and clean properly. We'd rather say that than overclaim.
Many of our formulas are. A few, such as our nappy salve and balms, contain beeswax or lanolin. Check the ingredient list on the product page.
No. Some formulas contain nut or seed-derived oils and butters, such as sweet almond, shea, coconut and argan. Our factory also isn't nut-free, so we don't make a nut-free claim.
Our products have independent safety reports under UK and EU cosmetic regulations. Always check the label, and patch test if you have sensitive skin.
